Can Mayday products be used for lice treatment?
Although Mayday Lice Prevention Shampoo is designed to kill stray lice before a full infestation occurs, bench studies show it can also be a safe and effective treatment when used properly.
To use as a treatment: Apply a generous amount of shampoo to the crown of the head and massage thoroughly into the hair. Add more as needed to fully saturate all strands. Leave on for 3 minutes, then rinse completely. Follow with Mayday Lice Fighting Conditioner.
Once all product is rinsed out, detangle the hair and use a lice comb to remove lice and nits. For best results, repeat every 24 to 48 hours over a 3-week period.
*For young children, we strongly recommend that an adult apply the shampoo to ensure effective use.
